Principal’s Characteristics: Key Driver to Information Technology Uptake in School Management in Public Secondary Schools in Machakos County, Kenya

This study sought to establish the influence of principals’ characteristics on use Information Technology in secondary school management Machakos County. The adopted descriptive research design. target population was 58 principals and 868 teachers sample size 194 including 21 identified through purposive sampling, 173 sampling simple random sampling. used both qualitative quantitative data. Quantitative data were collected using questionnaire while interview schedule. Validity established expert judgement, test-retest method done ensure reliability. analyzed SPSS version 22. Descriptive statistics i.e. Mean Standard deviation analyze Inferential correlation analysis independent variables dependent variable. Content for data, presented narration verbatim quotes. Pearson Correlation Coefficient test relationship between variable at 95% confidence level or 5% significance. findings revealed that personality, attitude, ICT skills social networks positively influenced IT
